Alumni scholarships are made possible through the generosity of those who believe in investing in the futures of others. Support comes from revenue generated by membership in the Alumni Association and through personal donations by alumni who believe in giving back to their alma mater that gave so much to them. Scholarships are $1,500 each.

First Generation ScholarshipsFor students who are the first in their family to attend a four year university.
DEADLINES:
The application deadline for all scholarship applications has been extended to May 23, 2008.
SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS:
A complete scholarship application packet consists of:
1). Completed Scholarship Application
2). Two Letters of Recommendation
3). Your Personal Essay
4). Copy of your high school or college transcripts

SELECTION PROCESS:The Cal State Northridge Alumni Association reviews applications for alumni scholarships using all information available at the stated deadlines. Student reported eligibility information is confirmed by records available on the University computer system. Information that cannot be confirmed using computer records will not be used by the Scholarship Office. The Scholarship Office cannot be responsible for errors on the system and subsequent late changes. Admissions and grade changes made after the deadline are not considered in the application or award process. After the applications have been reviewed, they are forwarded to the Alumni Association Scholarship Committee for selection and scoring according to the criteria and requirements specified for each scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee an award. If selected, you will be notified by the Alumni Association and funds will be dispersed by the Scholarship Office in August. Occasionally, scholarships recipients cannot accept their awards. When this occurs, an alternate is selected as a replacement.
